Way to go, Congressman!

Congressman Jeff Fortenberry asks Hillary Clinton not to export abortion.

p.s. Try to imagine a Canadian politician giving this speech…

Andrea adds: I can imagine a Canadian giving this speech, actually. He deserves a standing ovation. “Imposition of our own woundedness,” “neocolonialism,” “paternalistic,” “elitist,” AND “an assault on the dignity of the poor and the vulnerable…” These are all apt phrases to describe what exporting abortion internationally would mean.

Note that in face of his eloquence, we get one reply and one reply only. Clinton’s reply can be summed up in the phrase “it must be a woman’s choice.”

And so, once again, choice trumps all, as if there were no such thing as universal values. I was just at a talk about democratic discourse and civility in the public square. But we can’t debate civilly or otherwise if the only reply I ever receive is “your views are fine for you, but not for me.”

There’s got to be something more than that to this life.

Did you see Rep. Chris Smith tearing into Hillary for being in “awe” of Margaret Sanger? Also a good watch/read:

    WOW, Congressman!!!!!!! Eloquent beyond belief.

But I sure wanted to slap Hillary when she said that his strong daughters would have a “choice.”

Can we import Congressman Fortenberry? Can’t say as I have ever heard that kind of eloquence coming from a Canadian politician.

We could certainly use a few good people like these congressmen here in Canada.
I heard a story that years ago, Hilary Clinton was sitting next to an elderly woman at a state dinner, they were engaged in a deep conversation. Hilary said “why do you suppose with all the wonderful advantages we have in the US, that we have not had a woman President?” to which the other woman replied “you probably aborted her.” That woman was Mother Teresa.

Hillary is unbelievable. To include Thomas Jefferson in the same sentence as Margaret Sanger is deplorable. He was an “unrepentant slaveholder;” so, that is an excuse for Margaret Sanger’s beliefs in “eugenics?” Does Hillary have a soul?

Linda D: I’m not at all surprised that Ms. Clinton used a distracting argument to avoid responsibility for her “awe” of Sanger. If she’s not willing to retract her insensitive statement, then what else she could do but say, “OK, but look at THIS guy! He was bad, too, and everyone likes him anyway!” Obviously, Ms. Clinton’s argument is flawed because Thomas Jefferson’s slave ownership was not the driving force behind his political vision. Margaret Sanger’s racism and bigotry was the inspiration for her political vision.

After watching that clip of Congressman Fortenberry, I’m especially proud to be an American 🙂

Thank you Congressman for speaking truth from your heart, unfortunately it was on deaf ears. I praise God that he has placed righteous men like yourself in our government who are not afraid of speaking up against some of the policies that put our nation, our youth and families in danger. Thank you for your courageous efforts. Mary

This is an awesome way that Congressman Fortenberry brought forth the word on abortion and life of the unborn. I have to agree with Mary on praising God that we have men who stand for righteousness and the sanctity of life. May the Lord continue to bring forth the truth and that it will not fall on deaf ears. May the ears be opened that are closed to the truth of life in the womb. Thank you also for the courage to stand for what is right. Be Blessed Vicky
