Meat market

Published by at 2:38 pm

Two dutch TV hosts, alive, eat each other’s flesh, that they’ve had surgically removed, simply to see what it tastes like.

I’m deeply sorry to post this item so close to Christmas, but we here are in the business of drawing attention to those things which detract from human dignity. Are we so bored, so rich, so spoiled that this is what makes for entertainment today? Sometimes depravity takes the form of a Dutch TV show.

Cannibalism live on television. Hey, why not eh? This is what happens when we stop basing our societal standards on moral absolutes. Without the natural law there’s no reason to argue against cannibalism other than “I think it’s yucky.” Most people today think cannibalism is yucky, but they couldn’t tell you why. I know it’s just for shock value, but I fear this sort of thing will become more and more normal as we get further away from our Judeo-Christian roots. Peter Kreeft said in one of his lectures that no society that was based on relativism has ever survived. After cannibalism, what’s next?

We need not worry about what comes next, phewf! (Cannibalism marks the end of the line.)
