Do you want to see your physician stripped of their conscience rights?

June 23, 2014 by Faye Sonier 9 Comments

If not, let the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario know. Vote here (right hand side). There is reason for serious concern that they are heading in that direction.

They also have a survey on that same page that I’d encourage you to complete.

I don’t want to see my pro-life doctors forced to leave the province because the College will force them to perform acts that violate their beliefs and conscience.

Well. Isn’t this a solution in search of a problem. How much of a problem is it that there are a few doctors who are unwilling to prescribe certain procedures because of conscience reasons? The most egregious incidence where this has been a problem that I’ve heard of involved a woman who was unable to get a prescription for birth control at one walk-in clinic, and had to go a couple of blocks to get said prescription.

Personally, I’d rather have a doctor who was willing to say no to me if he felt that a certain treatment was immoral, rather than have a doctor who felt that a treatment was immoral, but went along with it anyway.

I’m with you there, Melissa. And I like “a solution in search of a problem.” Very true.

      Sigh.

I’ve always believed that doctors are meant for healing, not killing. Stripping away the conscience rights of doctors for any reason will promote the agenda of the few who are already without a conscience, but who have an agenda that will eventually lead to killing as a solution to other medical concerns or situations.
