I hadn’t heard of Harvey Weinstein before last week. But no matter! I just wrote a whole column in Convivium about him and the problems we face as a society.
byWe’ve tried so very hard to create a world of consequence-free sex and it’s not working very well. But if there are alpha males in Hollywood or politics for whom it does work, then suffice to say, the culture encourages it.

I like the idea of a March on Hollywood to protest not only Weinstein’s behavior, but to also promote Hollywood’s portrayal of women as sex objects that never veer above a size six. Unfortunately, all the big names in Hollywood who would afford name-recognition to this said venture are smaller than a size six themselves, and wouldn’t be the best spokespeople for the event.

Sorry. I said promote Hollywood’s portrayal of women as sex objects. I meant protest.
