What she said

An article about George Tiller’s trial in Kansas that I agree with:

Abortion providers have always had much to fear from the lunatic fringe. That hasn’t changed. Lateterm abortions are abhorrent. That hasn’t changed, either. But mainstream prolifers are not going to rush out to buy guns. Instead, they will rightly continue to condemn the killing of other humans, in whatever form that takes, both before and after birth.

One of the charactistics of a lunatic fringe, any lunatic fringe, is they are very loud and attention-grabbing.

So are you trying to imply that *every* group that is very loud and attention-grabbing is part of the lunatic fringe. (See the photo that accompanies Brigitte’s post of Feb 5, 2009- Cherchez la feministe indeed)

There is, of course, also the very loud and attention-grabbing Global Warming/Climate Change bandwagon “a la Al Gore”.

Oh, let’s not forget the very loud and attention-grabbing Pride Parades. And the Pro-Same-Sex-Marriage activists.

    The list is endless…..

And your point is? I specifically said my observation holds for all lunatic fringes.

I think your examples arn’t quite lunatic nor fringe enough though. I was thinking more along the lines of the environmental saboteurs who attack industrial sites, or the people who go to those parades dressed in bondage gear and not much else. People who are tiny in numbers, but attract a huge amount of attention even so because their actions are so provocative. Like the violent pro-life campaigners.
