In order to comment on a movie, one typically watches it. I started watching 180, the new and popular pro-life movie, but only got through the first five minutes. This is not because it was bad, but because I ran out of time.
(In those first five minutes the host asks random people on the street if they have heard of Hitler. To be frank, I was amazed that so few people had.)
Anyways, seeing as I have not seen the movie, I am linking to Stephanie Gray’s blog on the topic, a trustworthy source. Hopefully I get to see the movie myself soon, in which case I’ll add my own thoughts.
180 shows the simplicity of abortion. It is the killing a baby in the womb. It also shows how clear thinking will bring someone to see this.
Planned Parenthood/Pro Choice is changing its’ strategy from science and reasoned thinking because someone who looks at the evidence and thinks clearly will see that a baby is being killed in the womb. Their strategy is becoming a promotion of ‘values’ as in; ‘we all have our own values and you are not to impose them on anyone else’. But, these groups are intellectual cheaters. They are choosing to ignore some facts. Firstly, that whatever one’s ‘values’ are there is a baby being killed in the womb. Secondly, they are imposing their values on those whom they disagree with.
180 is 180 from the Planned Parenthood/Pro Choice mindset. It is a simple, honest, logical expression of information. Worth watching.
I too watched 180. While I agree with the process used to get people thinking in the film, and will encourage others to watch, I do struggle with the message we send when comparing the abortion and the Holocaust because the leader of the Holocaust and women who abort are not the same. As for all of us who stand by and do nothing the comparison could not be any better.
