I remember when I was a kid and she won her Olympic Gold for figure skating. No TV back then. We heard it first on the radio or read it in the paper and the next week it was featured on the news reels before the main feature at the theatres. Not to many people at the event either. It was as hockey and all other winter sports back then performed out doors and I am not positive but it may have been snowing during her performance. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.
I wanted a Barbara Ann Scott doll in the worse way. They were blond with blue eyes, wore the cutest little red outfit with a skating skirt and little white skates on their feet. Pure magic.
