Birth control for men?

August 16, 2012 by Andrea Mrozek 2 Comments

Imagine how this would change the landscape. Would men take such a pill? Would women trust them to?

In the search for a cancer cure, researchers have developed a molecule that could function as a non-hormonal, reversible form of male birth control.

I don’t know about that. It seems that men who would most likely to be irresponsible in regards to their fertility, are also the type who figure it’s not their problem because they can’t get pregnant. “Not my problem” -types. But, on the other hand, if men could prevent pregnancy on their own, it makes it a lot harder to look a pregnant woman in the eye and say “Not my department.”

Dr. Angela Lanfranchi says, in an interview with Michael Coren, that they did attempt to provide male birth control. The efforts were stopped after two men complained that it affected their testicle size. Men simply won’t put up with any change to their “equipment”.
