Finally an abortion spokesperson admits what we’ve known all along.
Joyce refers to the pro-choice movement receiving support from a majority of Canadians. Is this the case? I have heard so many conflicting “facts” on this front. In my experience, certainly the pro-choice movement has been more vocal, but can it really be true that a decided majority of Canadians are opposed to any and all abortion legislation? I suspect (based upon the fact that many of my acquaintance were unaware of the breadth of the current lack of legislation) that many people don’t even know that women can legally receive an abortion 8 months into the pregnancy in Canada; I find it hard to believe that a “majority” of Canadians would be unfazed to learn that abortions ARE happening at late stages in pregnancies. Again, though, I would like to be as informed as possible! Am I totally off-base? Are there polls I can refer to?

I would say it is fair to say most Canadians are in the mushy middle. Neither so pro-life as I would like, nor so pro-abortion as Joyce would like.
