A Czech mom discovers she is pregnant with quintuplets. That’s a whole lot of babies to have all at once! I hope they are all healthy and that she gets the support she is very much going to need.

Here’s a question for you:
As the number of babies in the belly increases, so does the chance of serious complications during childbirth. These babies are going to be born by c-section, but, if the mother had felt strongly that she wanted to give birth vaginally, should she have the choice to do so?
If she is aware of the risks that she runs, why would she opt for vaginal birth? I know so many women who feel so strongly about having a natural childbirth, that sometimes I just want to say to them “what matters is that your baby comes out alive”. Birthing is only a tiny percentage of the parenting process, there is a whole lot more that comes after that. I feel that the focus on birthing should really be put in perspective.
This is about the baby first and foremost.
