Woah. Low birthrates are a problem that are not easily corrected, apparently:
Would two hours of free child care inspire you to go make yourself a baby? Knowing that Denmark has one of the lowest birthrates in the world, and realizing that this could potentially put them out of business, a cluster of kindergartens there made that offer to parents. They have promised to provide two hours’ free childcare in the form of a party for the school children one evening this week, so that the parents can go to bed and make more babies.
I will refrain from repeating commentary that has been made before about the effects of the Pill, separating sex from children and generally living in a society that is not friendly to children. Of course, the author of the piece touches on none of those.

Right. This ‘ism’ that eventually sees us all as commodities. Wrong worldview.
P.S. Did you ever see ‘Sophie Scholl’ – The Final Days’? The interrogation comment that comes to mind in thinking that someone sees people as something that they are not; ‘It is not I but you that have the wrong worldview’.
I have seen Sophie Scholl. Loved it.
Sheesh.
If I were in Denmark, I wouldn’t want to get pregnant either. Why? Because Denmark has made it a stated goal to be rid of Down’s Syndrome babies.
So much for choice, eh? A woman is free to choose whether or not to have an abortion if the baby is healthy, but if the baby has a genetic disorder, then the state is going to exert severe pressure to abort.
Somehow, a couple hours a week free of your kindergardener so that a you can get down to the business of making more babies just isn’t going to cut it in a society that is so, so Brave New Worldish.
