Firestorm over sex selection in Canada

January 17, 2012 by Andrea Mrozek 3 Comments

So far as I’m concerned, this is an old story. But it’s still good it’s coming up, since it is still a problem. I suppose some people have a hard time accepting the facts in front of them:

Other organizations, such as the South Asian Women’s Centre and the Immigrant Women’s Health Centre in Toronto, said they didn’t know of a single case of a woman seeking a sex-selective abortion. “I don’t think that any one of our councillors in 30 years of serving immigrant women has had someone say I want to know the sex of the fetus before getting an abortion,” said Ayesha Adhami, administrative co-ordinator at the IWHC. “We’re a little concerned about there being racial stereotypes around this, and whether or not it’s actually happening in Canada is hard to say.”

Actually, it’s not that hard to say at all.

    On the upside–

The mainstream media is picking up the term feticide. That is a better word than abortion to describe what happens, don’t you think?

I am sure there are many people who don’t want to accept these facts. It will require them to explain why discriminating against pre-born females is bad, but killing pre-born children of unknown sex should still be allowed.

How do the pro-abortionists get out of this knot?
    It’s ok to abort.
    My body, my choice.
Because I’m…. broke…. the doctors say the baby has Downs and I can’t deal with that now, I’m too young, too independent, don’t wanna be tied down, it’s not a good time in my life…
But wait, hey, no it’s not ok, not when it’s a girl.
    A girl?
How can they tell it’s a girl, it’s just a blob of cells.
Ok forget it. It’s my baby girl.
    Just kill the boys.
I mean, anyone boy or girl, it’s my body, my choice, right?
