Nancy Reagan had a nuanced view. She wrote in her autobiography that she didn’t know where she fell on the abortion issue, and that she couldn’t get past the feeling that abortion is the taking of a life; but that she could accept it for rape, incest and the well-being of the mother.
I agree with Peter; I don’t think Rosalyn Carter was a pro-choicer either.
