Universities are institutions of higher learning that should be encouraging debate among young people to express different points of view on all types of topics even on major issues of day like abortion.
For one group of students to be used to surppress the freedom of speech of other groups of students across the university and college campuses of Canada just because they have a different point of view on a major issue is not only an ominous sign for this nation but defeating the entire concept of what a university and college education has always been all about for hundreds of years.
The first place the Communist and Nazi forces of Eastern Europe went after was in fact the intellectuals on the university campuses across Europe to surppress the voices of those that they felt would be the most articulate and biggest threats to the onslot of their agenda at the time.
If we don’t want a nation of young zombies that only think in one way graduating from our universities and colleges we should be encouraging debate not suppressing it in our institutions of higher learning.
Andrea,
Please explain yourself a liittle better here – it feels like an inside slight rather than a well rounded thought. If pro-life clubs or others have been abused by HRC’s across the nation – as I believe Rev. Boisson has been – lets not be cowed by such behaviour.
Perhaps you have not been influenced by Ezra Levant’s current crusade to discredit the “star chamber” activities of many of the HRC across the country.
