You know, when this story broke at this time last year, the words used to describe gender-selective abortion was female feticide. That term only lasted a couple of days, and then was euphemized down to gender-selective abortion, which is still a pretty strong term for abortion advocates.
I wonder where the memo came from saying “Though shalt not use the term ‘female feticide’ in this discussion.” It was like a shooting star–it was everywhere, but only for a day or two, and then it was gone.
I, for one, think the term feticide is particularly apt to this discussion.
