How unspeakably sad

Perhaps the saddest story I’ve heard in a long, long time. How come nobody noticed anything?

This is so upsetting. My heart goes out to her family and friends.
I’m uncomfortable though, with the quickness to label her as mentally unstable or a ‘troubled woman’. I had my own experience with Postpartum Depression, and I can only assume Simmi experienced this in some form too. I would shy away from these labels as I think they compound the fears of women suffering from depression that keep them from speaking to anyone about their condition. There are so many stories of women who have experienced postpartum depression and taken their own lives, or those of their children. It deserves so much more research and more accurate diagnosis. So called Medea Killings are a result of depressed or mentally unstable women not getting the help they need. As Brigitte asked, how come nobody noticed anything?
