A press release from the Liberals:
Canadians must have confidence that the candidates they elect will represent their views in Ottawa, not Ottawa’s views to them,” said Mr. Trudeau. “Our motion is a strong step in the right direction and we hope that all Members of Parliament, regardless of party, will agree to support it.”
I like this idea, so often lost here in Ottawa, that MPs bring the values and views of their constituents to Ottawa, not the reverse.

Harper has his foot in it now. Trudeau is sounding like a Reform member and reflecting what the majority of Canadians think Members of Parliament should be doing. Ironic that the last time this was such an issue was when Chretien was double speaking reminding Canadians that Canada is a Country founded on ‘responsible’ government not ‘representative’ government.
Well I’m all for this motion, if it’s as clear as it looks. But he told Kady O’Malley the other day that he would require his MPs to support abortion. So it looks like he’s getting ready to kick the remaining Liberal pro-life MPs to the curb.
