Two new studies out, both showing negative repercussions for women’s mental health after abortion. Both are done by reputable scientists and published in peer-reviewed journals. Here’s the press release for the Fergusson et al study. And here’s the Coleman et al study.

Tanya adds: The Fergusson study: “Women who have an abortion face a 30% increase in the risk of developing common mental health problems”
It then says, with its next breath: “The study found, the overall population effects of abortion on mental health are small.”
What? Nice.

More from the Fergusson study: http://tinyurl.com/abortdrugs
“Women who have an abortion are three times more likely to develop a drug or alcohol addiction and 30 per cent more likely to have mental disorders compared with other women, research has revealed….Professor David Fergusson, who led the research, said the findings had ‘important implications’ – because more than 90 per cent of British abortions were authorised on the grounds that keeping an unwanted baby would cause the mother mental health problems.”
Those were the findings in England and Wales; his team in New Zealand were the ones who said the results were ‘minimal’ at 1.5-5.5%.
Minimal? If you use the numbers in the study-200,000 women in England and Wales had abortions in the previous year-if even 1.5% of them developed mental health problems, that’s 3000 walking wounded a year. If 5.5% are affected, that totals 11,000 women.
If that’s what he calls minimal…
