Sometimes the most insightful and remarkable statements come from children. We have all been witness to a child whose keen observation, humility and complete innocence causes them to spout great and eternal truths at the most uncanny and opportune (or inopportune) moments in life. Often these truths, which are so obvious to the child, have been have sullied by adults with our greed, our cynicism and our pride.
Here is one such example, and it is worth watching.

We would do well to heed these children.

Yaaaa, I hate to say it, but I’m not a fan of this clip. It’s emotionally manipulative. That said, it is true that high schoolers or younger are generally pro-life because it is simply what is known in our hearts to be right. You have to be taught that there are extenuating “complexities” that make abortion just fine, and even then, it’s not compelling, which is why we have such a high percentage of folks who are uncomfortable with abortion, even though they remain broadly pro-choice.
On a different note, I wouldn’t ever put my kid in this kind of clip, because I don’t want a child so young discussing killing babies.
Some of the kids are older, but one of those little girls (the super cute “when is this going to be over” one, shouldn’t be yet aware that such a thing exists.

I hesitated to post for the same reasons, but I guess I found it compelling enough. Certainly provides food for thought, about the appropriateness of the video itself, but also the almost universal response from children when they are confronted with such issues.
