Thousands of women demonstrated outside parliament Sunday to oppose legislation banning the marriage of girls under 17. The protesters held up banners proclaiming “don’t ban what Allah made permissible,” or “stop violating Islamic sharia law in the name of rights and freedoms.” Proposed amendments to the civil status law stalled in parliament last August after severe opposition to a government proposal that would ban girls under 17 and males under 18 from marrying. Child marriages are common, especially in rural areas, where girls as young as eight have been married off.

Anyone who would marry, or have sex with, an eight or nine year old girl has got to be one sick pervert. All civilized societies outlaw child marriage. Harsh, anti-life societies give the adult male everything they want, no matter what the cost to women and children. The result is horror and pain for the women and kids.
Humans are not designed for sex until they hit puberty. Even then, it’s better if they wait at least a few years. Before puberty, sexual activity has bad effects on the person, psychologically and sometimes physically as well.
Sharia law is based on hatred of the female. It involves hideous injustices against women. There is no justice in sharia, just egregious human rights violations. There is no protection against rape in Sharia law, just prosecution of the rape victim for adultery. And that’s just in one area of law.
Oh, and to those idiots who say that the Fundamentalist Christians are just like the Taliban; just wait till these jerks who want Sharia take over. Then you’ll pine away wishing you had the Fundamentalist Christians in power, knowing that they never did the horrors you’re facing now. The Fundamentalist Christians might even be hiding you from the Sharia people. Then you’ll know who the real enemy is.
