Archie was supposed to marry Betty, or remain a terminally undecided teenager forever. Marrying Veronica was NOT supposed to happen.

Andrea adds: I just can’t believe it took him 23 years to choose. (Last time I read Archie I was ten, at summer camp.) If I were Veronica or Betty, I’m just not sure I’d wait that long.

Ah well, Betty deserves better anyway.
Total disappointment, Archie sold out to the mean and rich girl. Ah, such is life.
I would assume this means the end of the comic. Who will want to read about Archie’s married life with Veronica?
Am I the only person who watched the rather disastrous TV movie of Archie in, roughly, 1988?
Usually when it takes that long, you expect someone to make the right decision.
I have a rather negative view of most of the main characters though. Archie’s an indecisive skirt-chasing tool, Veronica’s a self-interested and fickle user of men, and Betty, though generally a great girl, throws her brains out the window wherever Archie is concerned.
I’m a harsh judge of people who don’t value character highly in their selection of mates.
Rebecca, was that the one where Jughead did some sort of rap thing? That really was dreadful. I can’t believe I watched it, but I did.
