I don’t specifically know what’s going on in Winnipeg actually, however, Maclean’s reports that at the Conservative Party convention, delegates vote to bring back something like Bill C-484, the unborn victims of violence bill.
A more contentious proposal would add charges to anyone who kills or injures a fetus during the commission of a crime against a pregnant mother.
Be it resolved that this is neither contentious, nor particularly Conservative with a Cap C. (Bill C-484 had wide Canadian support.)

I was at the convention this weekend so I can say with certainty that a policy resolution was passed related to this issue fairly resoundingly, though not as resoundingly as abolishing S. 13 of the Charter.
At the end of the plenary policy session on Saturday however, (done in almost that small-print style as a TV channel would say, “The following program may not contain views shared by this station…”) one of the last comments from the chair was; “These policies are non-binding…”
Er, so why did I spend my Saturday afternoon sitting there and holding up my red/green voting card again?

About five years late to the party, but why is it not “Conservative”?
