I find Mr. Woodworth very compelling, as he speaks to a vision of Canada that I very much share. Open dialogue as a noble undertaking in Canada.
“Human rights are universal, not a gift of the state”
“About abortion I say this: recognizing people before the moment of birth will not resolve that issue,” says Mr. Woodworth, and all pro-lifers ought to be aware of that.
“Our ideals create unity of diversity”
The man of the hour, Mr. Stephen Woodworth. A good orator, setting a tone and laying out the bigger picture.
Mr. Warawa thanks Mr. Woodworth for his integrity…
…and his honesty. Me too.
Every parent knows a child is there
Another irony Mr. Warawa raises. When we want children, we love them, honour them, post their ultrasound pictures. When we don’t… you know what we do.
This is about honouring the right to life of every human being.
This is a very historic moment
Remember the afternoon of September 21, 2012, people, because we heard some very fine arguments in defence of life and against abortion in the House of Commons on this day. Warawa continues to speak in defence of human worth.
This is important and historical, win or lose the motion.
Mark Warawa, Conservative, defends Stephen Woodworth
Mr. Woodworth is reasonable man, worthy of respect. Laws should be based on science, because we want a better Canada, says Mr. Warawa.
Throughout this whole M-312 thing I’ve always been shocked at how it’s the pro-choicers who are anti-science on this. It’s the “religious right-wingers” who are saying let’s look at the evidence.
No one seems to notice this irony.
It’s an attack on “women’s right to choose”
The NDP will be unanimously opposing this motion.
“It’s not true that children in the third trimester are being aborted”
Children are not being aborted in the third trimester, Mr. Chicoine says. It’s so hard for those on the other side because when they don’t watch their language they end up talking about killing children.
Sylvaine Chicoine, NDP on M-312
Again, he’s disappointed we have to revisit an issue that is closed. For those opposed to M-312, a mainstay of their arguments appears to be that we simply shouldn’t discuss certain issues.
